The Student Leadership Expo was a huge success!
Over 150 students participated throughout the day.
The Student Leadership Expo was sponsored by Instructional Support Services and The Foundation with many different offices supporting the event. It was a memorable and inspiring event where students were able to connect to resources on campus and meet community and college leaders. Our keynote had an inspiring message while our workshops facilitators shared excellent strategies for success and ideas for personalized leadership skills.
The evaluations and feedback have all been very positive. One student reported, “It was very inspiring and helpful, I learned plenty of good resources and met friendly people.” Another said, “I feel this leadership Expo was the best I have ever attended. It gave realistic information, very informative. It was inclusive to all women, not just a few.” Another reported, “It was a great experience for a first-year student.”
We cannot thank everyone who was involved enough. We appreciate the support through encouraging students to attend and promoting your department by having a table. We would never have been able to have an event like this without Karen Ferrer-Muniz. Karen is the inspiration behind these events and the person whose idea and support initiated these events several years ago. We would like to send a special thank you to her for all of her encouragement and support. We also want to thank the President’s office, FSA, the Student Senate and the Student Activities office, and the CAAT office for their generous donations and support. We want to thank the Athletic Department and Mazzone Catering for their assistance and support as well. In addition, we want to thank all of the offices that make events like this possible: Communications and Marketing, Office of Special Events and Facilities Utilization, Graphics, Maintenance, etc.
We are already looking forward to next year.
